We are half way through our Cool Kingdom Party Vacation Bible School at St. Isidores!
Theme
Our theme today was "Mary is Queen of Heaven and Earth. She brings our prayers to Jesus."
Virtue of the Day
The Virtue of the Day was Faith. We did a virtue demonstration using a balloon. We make choices everyday to allow our faith in God to grow (blow up balloon) or to make our faith shrink (let out air from the balloon). The air in a balloon gives it some shape and keeps it together, just like our faith in God gives meaning and purpose to our lives.
Saint of the Day
The Saint of the Day was St. Joseph. We presented each child with a saint card today, so please read the story on the back of the card with your child.
Faith Station
In the faith station, we discussed ways we can honor Mary our Heavenly Queen in our lives. Ex. Celebrating her feast days, singing songs about Mary, praying the rosary, putting up pictures and statues of her in our homes, etc.
“A great sign appeared in the sky, a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars.” Revelation 12:1
*Repeat this scripture to your child a few times to see if they can memorize it.
Music Station
The Cat.Chat songs of the day were: “Full of Grace” and “Shout it Out”. Ask your child to sing and do some of the actions to this song. You can also download all the songs with this link.
Craft Station
The children made rosaries in the craft station today. The littest particpants made a bracelet of one decade while the older participants made a whole rosary. We talked about how we pray the "Hail Mary" with each bead in a decade. We also had a Saint of the Day Coloring Page.
Snack Station
The kids had "Prayer Pretzels (or Twizzlers)" in snack today. The twists remind us of arms folded in prayer or even hugs.
Games Station
We played some fun games today - ask your child which was their favorite.
Take Home Items

Questions to ask your child:
Who is a person in your life that reminds you of Mary, our Blessed Mother? Why?
What was the best thing that happened to you today?
The Cat.Chat Challenge today is:
To pray the Act of Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary together as a family
O Immaculate Heart of Mary, I love you, my mother, and I give you my heart. I want to love God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit with my whole heart, my whole mind and my whole soul. Please pray for me. O Mary, Queen of all Saints, lead me to your Son Jesus, my King and Savior, through your most Holy Heart! Amen.
Tomorrow’s theme is:
Tomorrow, your child can look forward to learning about how Jesus is the King and Lord of our lives.
