This week, we’re going on an exciting journey through Advent, Christmas, Ordinary Time, Lent, and Easter.
Theme
Now, on our final day we are celebrating the joy of Easter!
Easter is not just one day, but an entire season. The resurrection of Jesus is a true historical event which changed history and we celebrate its power with the joyous season of Easter.
Virtue of the Day
The Virtue of the Day was Joy!
Joy is more than just being happy. It’s a whole other level! True joy comes from God! It’s a special gift that He gives us deep down in our hearts! When you’re having a hard day, you can still choose to be joyful knowing God is with you.
Ask your child what was special about the demonstration Miss Alyson shared today?
Saint of the Day
The Saint of the Day was St. Mary Magdalene. We presented each child with a saint card today, so please read the story on the back of the card with your child.
Faith Station
In the faith station, your child learned how Easter is the day we celebrate Jesus’ victory over death. We also talked about heaven and that the goal of every Christian is to be with Jesus in heaven for all eternity. In heaven, there will be beautiful laughter and pure joy that will last forever and ever. In heaven, you will feel completely safe and completely loved by God.
The Bible Verse of the Day was “I am the resurrection and the life.” John 11:25
*Repeat this scripture to your child a few times to see if they can memorize it.*
Music Station
The songs in the music station were called, “Power and All Things Are Possible”. Ask your child to sing and do some of the actions to these songs. You can also download all the songs with this link. If you'd like the music videos, click here. We hope you continue to listen to the songs learned this week so VBS will remain in their heart all year long.
**Reminder** Join us on TODAY at 11:45 a.m. in the main church for our musical performance! The children will be singing a few of the songs learned this week for our families.
Craft Station
The children made a Stations of the Cross Memory Card Game. Ask them if they know how to play the game. We finished up our special "Great Journey With Jesus" coloring page. The final artwork will be displayed in the "St. Isidore's Kids Corner" and other bulletin boards in our Church after VBS.
Snack Station
The kids enjoyed "Prayer Pretzels." Ask your child if they remember how the pretzels represent prayer.
Games Station
We played lots of fun games today. Ask your child which was their favorite.
Questions to ask your child:
What was your favorite game you played this week?
What was your favorite snack this week?
Why is Easter such an important celebration?
Can you name all the seasons in the Church Year?
The Cat.Chat Challenge today is:
Ask your child to name the people in their VBS Photo in the Frame made today at the craft station.
