This is our last day of the Cool Kingdom Party! We had a great week and learned a lot about Mary our Queen in Heaven and Jesus our King of Kings.
Theme
Build the Kingdom of God on Earth.” With the love and joy of Jesus in our hearts, we can each make this a better place for us to live in.
Virtue of the Day
The Virtue of the Day was Joy. We did a demonstration to teach a lesson on joy by mixing vinegar with baking soda together. We watched it all fizz up and bubble over the bowl. That’s what can happen to us, when we allow God to fill our hearts with His joy.
Saint of the Day
The Saint of the Day was St. Teresa of Calcutta. We presented each child with a saint card today, so please read the story on the back of the card with your child.
Faith Station
In the faith station, we discussed what it means to be “Kingdom” people and ways we can spread God’s Kingdom on earth.
“Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given you besides.” - Matthew 6:32
*Repeat this scripture to your child a few times to see if they can memorize it.
Music Station
The Cat.Chat songs of the day were: “El Shaddai’ and “Pray For Me” Ask your child to sing and do some of the actions to this song. You can also download all the songs with this link.
Craft Station
The children made VBS Treasure Picture Frames. They hold a special picture from VBS. We hope this will help them remember what they learned and the new friends they made this week.
Snack Station
The kids made Fruits of the Spiri Kebobs in snack today. In order to build up the Kingdom of God, we must be filled with the Fruits of the Spirit. “The Fruits of the Spirit are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22). And had an extra special treat from Rosemaries Homemade Water Ice.
Games Station
We played some fun games today..some included water! Ask your child which was their favorite.
Take Home Items
St. Teresa of Calcutta prayer card and coloring page.
Questions to ask your child:
• What was your favorite thing this week at Cat.Chat VBS?
• Who is one person you would like to pray for?
• If you could make an important change in this world, what would you change?
The Cat.Chat Challenge today is:
To have your family think of three simple things that you can do to help build the Kingdom of God on Earth.
Ex. Have each family member find five things to give away to someone in need, schedule a time to go and visit someone in a senior’s home, invite your parish priest over for coffee and dessert, pray a decade of the rosary at meal times, etc.
Thank you for sending your child to a St. Isidore’s VBS this week. It shows you care about deepening your child’s faith in God. May the Lord bless you and your family.
